Divine Timing to the Stars

Let's have a short and simple chat about the fixed stars.  Many before have perverted their use with overly deleterious text-book delineations.   It's wisest to walk away from this sort of interpretation, and look to the mythologies of the constellations which the star is in.  What part of the constellation does it denote?   How bright is it?  What is its colour?  This is useful a path to the contemplation of the deeper possibilities of a particular point in any given chart.  Some stars however, have irrevocable meanings which manifest reliably.

Knowing what specific stars like to do can be important for natal chart interpretation, but they can also be used as sneaky monthly electional timings.  The Moon is the translator of light.  She is our emissary to the stars.   Whatever the Moon touches, it brings down to Earth for us to use and interact with.  Once you see this in action, you have an opportunity every month to make use of the Moon's ability to be a magnifying lens for the power of the stars in timing your actions for maximum efficiancy.

I'll highlight now a few of the more useful stars in the sky, and what degree they currently inhabit in the Zodiac. You can time to the Moon being within a couple of degrees on either side.

Vega - 15 Capricorn:

Vega is the brightest star in Lyra, far to the North.  Personally it looks like the mouth of a snake to me, but that's neither here nor there.  Connected to Orpheus and his powerful magic Lyre, attune to the Moon here for added power in artistic endeavours, especially of a divinitory nature.

Deneb Algedi - 23 Aquarius:

The tail of the water goat. This star revels in the righteous and just application of the law.  If you are dealing with some unfair legal nonesense, try to file papers and make petitions while the Moon is here.  Also a star concerned with safety and protection.

 Fomalhaut- 4 Pisces:

A star of deep mystical and artistic insight.  The mouth of the fish into which Aquarius is pouring the water of inspiration and divine knowledge.  Attune to this for any mystical or divinatory workings.   Any given artistic endeavour will respond well to Fomalhaut.

   Algol- 26 Taurus:

The head of Medusa, the most feared star in the sky.  Though its interpretation is gnerally as malefic as you can get, Algol has long been used as a ward against evil.   Perseus holds the decapitated head of the Gorgon and wields it as a shield against the threats he faces.  You can time the Moon here for efforts to protect yourself from danger.

Aldeberan - 10 Gemini:

The red eye of the Bull.  An extremely Martial point within the constellation of Taurus.  Aldeberan gives a stubborn will to keep plowing forward, slowly but surely towards your goal.   Begin things when the Moon is here to provide a longevity of effort and willpower.

Regulus - 0 Virgo:

The heart of the Lion. Regulus lends itself to high visibility, as well as the favour of those in power.  Begin applications to your superiors for advancement in career and society as the Moon highlights this most royal star.  Anything requiring you to be in the limelight will be aided by Regulus.

Spica - 24 Libra:

The sheaf of what in the hand of the maiden. This beautiful blue star is considered the most beneficent in the sky.  Just looking upon its mellow azure glow brings a palpable feeling of ease and calm.  Spica grants abundance and nourishment.  Plant your crops as the Moon is upon Spica!  This can translate into all manner of form beyond literal crops.  Spica denotes the great joyous bounty of the harvest.  The work is done, the rewards will keep you warm and fed through the dark winter.

 Antares – 10 Sagittarius:

The heart of the Scorpion.  Antares is a red star of pure martial fire.  Time exercise to the transit of this star, or anything requiring intense physical effort.

  Ras Alhague – 22 Sagittarius:

The head of the healer Ophiucchus. For any medical work, taking of medicine, or long term efforts towards health, time with this star.

Now this is a very simple method to use, simply watching the Moon transit these points every month.  The efficacy of this will be mitigated by hard aspects to the Moon from difficult planets, whether the Moon is waxing (manifesting energy) or waning (withdrawing of energy).  The latitude of the Moon as well can be watched to see how closely it will aspect any given star that month.   There are of course many other stars which can be used in similar ways, but these are some of the most powerful and clearly operating stars in the heavens. Give it a shot and let me know how it goes!
