As Perseids Lights the Skies, The Meteors Spark the Mind.
As we arrive at the peak of Perseid season, note that there is meaning and resonance from where flashing lights of brilliance appear in the sky. The motion of a comet is more predictable and can be tracked over time, but seeing a bright flash can send messages to the attuned eye. Learn the mythology of the constellations off the ecliptic. Where do they fall (longitudinally anyways) within your own chart. What message is there for you from the heavens in that moment?
The Perseids have a solar longitude of 20 degrees Tropical Leo, hence, around August 12th every year is the peak of this meteor shower. The Constellation of Perseus currently begins at 24 Taurus, and runs through 11 degrees Gemini. The radial point of the meteor shower is at 18 Taurus. What house(s) does this fall in in your chart, and do you have any planets in this area? The constellation of Perseus carries with it the Mythology of a great Hero (son of Zeus) who slayed the terrifying beasts who plagued the common people before rescuing the princess and marrying her. He is the prototypical hero. When we see these brilliant streaks illuminating the sky, emanating from the hero, does it inspire humanity to acts of heroism? Do you find that while the Sun is within the middle degrees of Leo every year you are prompted to work on the issues of the houses which Perseus straddles?
Do the Perseids, lighting the sky reliably every year as Summer starts to wane not remind us that the darkness is taking hold, and spur us onwards to tackle that which needs doing before the murderous cold sets in? Mythic monsters hiding in the dark of humanity's struggle against the seasons.
Any meteor seen by yourself, with your own eyes, should be taken as a message highlighting that part of your chart in that moment. Make a note of this!
As the light wanes every summer, seize the power of the central fixed degrees of Leo, be the hero-king of your own destiny as streaks of light reign down from the heavens themselves upon you. Just don't stare too closely into Algol while you're doing it and be petrified into inaction.
