Pluribus and the Battle Against the Age of Pluto in Aquarius

Warning: This article will be full of spoilers, just like you got directly hooked up to the consciousness of all those who wrote the show. We want you to be happy, and wouldn't want to ruin the experience of seeing this all for yourself for the first time.
There, now that that's out of the way, what comes to mind when you think about the idea of being linked to all of the knowledge available to every current living human, and uniting as one consciousness to work together to forge a new world of peace and unity for all, regardless of any physically divisive factors. Well that sure sounds like the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius doesn't it? Or maybe it's just the Pluribus.
This new Vince Gilligan show (of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fame, though for my purposes, his work on the X-Files hits a little closer to the mark,) is predicated upon the concept of an alien virus infecting all of humanity, and uniting their consciousnesses together into one hive mind, obsessively set upon creating a utopia. The RNA sequence used to accomplish this was beamed towards the Earth from Kepler 22-B, a planet just off the left wing of Cygnus. Via ecliptic longitude, this places the signal as coming from 7 degrees of Aquarius. They went out of their way to not only show where the planet was, but have the signal itself represented by a wavy line which looks not at all unlike the glyph of Aquarius itself.
Huh. Do the significations of Aquarius not ring true to the very theme of this show? More than you know.
The bonafides on this are important to start with, because Vince Gilligan is in fact an Aquarius Sun, (n. February 10, 1967, no known birth time), so his creative vision is directly tied in with the themes and motives of Aquarius, a sign much beleaguered in modern times by the complications of having two rulers. (This article of mine goes into a bit more depth about the current predicaments of the rulerships versus the actual constellations' positions, and my own personal opinion on this, all extremely relevant to the themes we are discussing here, as you'll see.)
Originally, Aquarius was an Air sign ruled by Saturn. Its inclination was to find the most efficient way to structure a society for maximum social cohesion, and then enforce the rules rigidly. The Sun is in detriment in the cold winter sign of Aquarius. Sol is the independent, creative animating force of a natal chart. Aquarius is more concerned with the larger social order than one's own independent inclinations. This becomes a problem when we consider the modern addition of Uranus as Aquarius' ruler. Uranus is concerned with radical independence and freedom. Uranus wants the individual to assert themselves in shocking, and even disruptive ways. Uranus has little concern for larger social orders, and tends to find them boring in general. Who reminds us of Uranus within the narrative structure of Pluribus?
Carol. Carol Sturka is the embodiment of the modern conception of Aquarius as a sign of radical and eccentric independence. The name Carol itself is the feminized form of Charles, which means "Free Man". True to her name, Carol places herself at odds with the entirety of the hive mind in an attempt to win back the freedom of the individual, while the hive displays both the modern hippy conception of Aquarius as a sign of radical peace, love and harmony, with the traditional notion of Saturn ruled enforcement of the law. The hive want to enforce their hippy harmony with the weight of all human knowledge and science, (the keyword of Aquarius being KNOWLEDGE), stomping out the last embers of independent thought and creativity, whether Carol agrees or not. Their only boundary to advancement is not invading her personal body, frozen eggs, once stored, be damned. Aquarius is not concerned with personal property rights. It is all for the collective.
Both factions here deploy key Aquarian concepts as their mode of operation. Aquarius, though Saturn ruled, is more inclined to tossing away old ideas than Saturn ruled Capricorn is, for what is proven to be more efficient. As such, and with the modern grafting of Uranus upon it, new technologies, and science fiction itself, are both directly related to Aquarius. Carol is a professional writer, and being an air sign concerned with communication, this also fits in as an appropriate Aquarian profession. The other rebel, Manousous, is a ham radio operator, yet another sign of Aquarian signals being sent across what may now seem like antiquated technology, but once upon a time heralded a new age of instantaneous international communication, something essential to enacted any suitably Aquarian goals. When global mind meld is not available, a ham radio is the next best thing.
The lock step, unified and relentless motion of the hive mind is pure Saturn at the heights of his most obsessive OCD fantasies. Their methodical subjugation of all of humanity with immaculate coordination is exactly what Saturn would like to do best. Aquarius is a cold sign, often seen as somewhat alien or robotic due to Saturn's inclination to freeze all emotion as best it can. The hive, while presenting the perfectly unperturbed smile of complete societal contentment, is totally incapacitated by any display of negative emotion. This makes the happiness come off as a phony artifice. Aquarius is also directly correlated to the eleventh house of friendship, which is a significant part of how the Hive relates to the un-assimilated. They treat them as friends, trying to abate any and all displeasure within them, as they work towards total and complete assimilation. The eleventh house is the house of groups. This is quite the group!
The Hive refuses to lie, and obeys all requests which do not violate their core principles, which are primarily to not harm the body, any body, while they attempt to completely consume their minds against their will. The soul does not seem to be a part of their calculation. Their tolerance for independent will goes only so far, as their absolute certainty that they have discovered the best way to live and enter the future harmoniously is not debatable, which is part of the fixed nature of Aquarius. The fact that they have no idea how they will feed themselves without even being willing to harm a plant does nothing to deter them from the certainty of their knowledge. Life destroying other life is a core fact of being alive in this realm. The idealism of Aquarius can be known to overlook the practical reality in exchange for their higher ideals. Aquarius, as an air sign, is only concerned with the intellectual domain, hence propagation for this mind virus is all about the transmission of the idea. The physical form is irrelevant.
The way the hive operates is not unlike AI. They have a database of all human knowledge, can bring to the surface relevant information instantly, but has the fatal flaw of being programmed to always please the user. The explosion of AI upon us can be directly linked to the early days of Pluto entering the sign of Aquarius. This show itself, with the battle between the independent Uranian side of Aquarius, (or the opposing sign of Sun ruled Leo if you will) and the new technocrat control grid future correlates directly to the challenges and battle which is, and will continue to be, the path of Pluto through Aquarius, opposing Leo. This show could very well just be called, Pluto in Aquarius, and be done with it! It's interesting to note that Vince Gilligan (though plans for the show seem to be shifting all the time as its popularity is secured) had stated the show might run for four seasons. Had the show run one season a year, this would have lined up the series finale with Pluto's transit of 7 Aquarius, where the signal originated from.
Other interesting Aquarian themes I've noted is that Carol soothes herself repeatedly in the series by watching episodes of the Golden Girls. This is significant for a few reasons. Though Gold is directly associated with the Sun, Saturn also has many connections to Gold, most directly through esoteric traditions which view Saturn as a second Sun, once our primary Sun, before a cataclysm, as well as the furthest out classical planet in a sort of mirror effect with Sol at the center. The Golden Girls is a show about senior citizens, and Saturn naturally rules the old. Finally; the theme song of Golden Girls is this, "Thank you for Being a Friend," which ties back to the eleventh house connection.
Carol is also a lesbian, and Aquarius is the sign most directly connected to homosexuality: not only because of the modern, forward thinking Uranian influence, but because of the myths of both Ganymede (who is the 'cup bearer' to Zeus; use your imagination) and his connection to Antinous, a now apocryphal constellation joined to Aquila the eagle, depicting the young lover of Hadrian who was syncretized to the story of Ganymede, placing Antinous in the talons of Aquila, the eagle of Zeus, (or literally Zeus in eagle form), carrying off the most beautiful young lad in the land. It was... well.. it was a different time. This is an issue worth exploring in more depth, but for now, let's just move along.
It is revealed that the Hive Mind is aware that the alien message was sent from a water planet, directly connecting us to the imagery of the Water Bearer. Here, the message of a pure life of peace and harmony pouring out of the wing of Cygnus is directly connected to the purified water which Ganymede spills from his vessel into Eridanus, the World River. Eridanus is the river into which Phaeton fell, burning from the hurled bolt of Zeus after stealing his father's chariot of the Sun. Cygnus, (or Cycnus), great friend of Phaeton, then plunged repeatedly into the river in search of his dead friend, before being turned into a swan, dipping his head endlessly beneath the pure waters. There seems to be a relationship here to Carol's continuing battles to defend her partner Helen's corpse. As well, since both sides of the conflict within this show resonate with different conceptions of the sign of Aquarius, the purity of the message is the water in the jar, pouring into a river which is seeded with such sorrow, implying the impending doom of the unrealistic nature of the vision of the RNA hive mind. In fact, given the revelation that their ultimate goal is to build a massive antenna in order to transmit their message on to other planets, while ignoring the fact that the human race is going to starve to death, shows the nature of this being a parasite running through the host, like cordyceps, causing the infected insect to climb as high is it can just to be devoured as it spreads the signal further. The signal originating from the swan then; who is splayed in what seems to be agony across the Milky Way, along the Southern Path, back from Capricorn, where souls leave this plane and head back to the land of the dead, or heaven; implies from the very start the failure of any utopian ideal. This is a plane of death and suffering, and to attempt to circumvent the difficult emotions, and the difficult decisions of what to destroy in order to further one's own life, ensures the doom of all within this plane. You cannot get to heaven within this physical reality, of this I think we can all agree.
Of course, we are all living these astrological archetypes in our lives, and whether we know consciously or not, they will play out in our works of art, as we access the great creative potential of our Solar placement, (and all else in our charts,) so it is no surprise that Vince Gilligan, an Aquarius Sun, would imagine a story which resonates with those themes so heavily, and I could leave it there and believe that the signal originating from within the tropical bounds of Aquarius is simply wonderful synchronicity, if it weren't for the fact that in episode 7, the Gap, at the end, after exploring how lonely and depressed Carol is becoming, we see the return of her scientifically crafted dream girl, Zosia, drawn from her own lustful imagination, return to her, and for the first time, Carol embraces her, and opens her heart to the Hive Mind. This is the moment, that we hear the song, "Aquarius/ Let the Sunshine in" play, in Portugese no less. "Welcome to the Age of Aquarius", indeed. That is about as explicit an admission that the Aquarian coding was conscious from the start as you can get.
The whole show is a meditation on the kind of global reset, "you will eat the bugs (or Human Derived Protein), own nothing, and be happy", which is the Pluto in Aquarius age we are in. If you haven't seen the show before, or want to go back and mine it for more details, I'd highly suggest planning a re-watch during Aquarius season this year. Maybe time a binge for the day of the Sun Pluto cazimi, (January 23, 2026), and consider where you stand on the precipice of a brave new world, and where you believe personal liberty and self-determination stand.
One last addendum, and again, we want you to be happy, and not spoil everything for you, but the final scene of the final episode of season 1 has Carol demonstrating the absurdity in the logic of this thought virus infecting humanity, by securing from them, what we are to believe is a fully functioning Atom Bomb. What are the most common nuclear sources for an Atom Bomb? Uranium-235, and Plutonium-239.
